The Sutter County Law Library Board of Trustees is scheduled to discuss and possibly approve a monetary donation to the Sutter County Library for HVAC repair costs at its Oct. 7 meeting in Yuba City.

The board’s agenda packet does not specify the proposed donation amount or a repair-cost total. The meeting is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. at the County Office Building, 1160 Civic Center Blvd., Suite A.

According to the packet’s Aug. 5 minutes, trustees discussed repairs after the library’s HVAC system was vandalized earlier in the year. The minutes say a higher fence and camera system had been installed to prevent future theft, and that those security measures were not covered by insurance. The minutes also say trustees were seeking more information about how much of the repair costs insurance would cover, how outstanding costs would be funded and how reimbursement to the county library would work if the law library made a donation.

The retrieved agenda and minutes do not record an insurance determination, repair invoices, a donation amount or the Oct. 7 outcome. They also do not include a response from the Sutter County Library.
