Sutter County’s Health and Welfare Committee is set to consider a five-year child welfare and probation improvement plan at its April 21 meeting.
The agenda lists approval of the California Child and Family Services System Improvement Plan for Feb. 4, 2026 through Feb. 4, 2031. According to the committee agenda summary and staff report, the plan covers Sutter County Health and Human Services’ Child Welfare Services program and the Probation Department and is required under Assembly Bill 636.
The staff report says the plan is intended to guide improvements in permanency, placement stability, foster care re-entry and family engagement, with related attention to placement matching and access to behavioral health and substance use treatment. It also says the plan has no fiscal impact and would still need board approval before being submitted to the state.
The available record does not include the meeting outcome, any amendments, or whether the item was approved on consent or after discussion.
