Sutter County committees are scheduled to consider a series of proposed contracts, budget adjustments and infrastructure actions Oct. 5-8, according to official county agenda packets. The packets describe recommendations for committee consideration and possible action by the Board of Supervisors; they do not establish final votes or completed agreements.
The Agriculture/Public Protection and General Government Committee’s Oct. 5 agenda includes a proposed first amendment with the Yuba City Unified School District for continued probation intervention services during the 2026-27 fiscal year. The staff report places the agreement’s maximum at $296,100 in YCUSD revenue. In return, the Probation Department would continue truancy, prevention and intervention services, including one full-time probation officer at each of River Valley High School, Yuba City High School and Gray Avenue Middle School. YCUSD would fund 50% of the salaries and benefits of the three officers, according to the committee agenda packet.
On Oct. 6, the Health and Welfare Committee is scheduled to consider behavioral-health care-facility agreement amendments and a $100,500 budget adjustment for mental-health and behavioral-health appropriations. The staff report says the changes would adjust maximums for agreements with Telecare Garfield, Life Generations Healthcare and Davis Guest Home. The same agenda proposes accepting a $100,000 California Office of Traffic Safety Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program agreement for Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2027, along with a matching public-health budget adjustment, according to the Health and Welfare Committee packet.
The Public Works/Support Services Committee’s Oct. 8 agenda includes a proposed $102,306.62 increase for the Kent Avenue Bridge Replacement Project, bringing the stated contract total to $600,941.62. The item also would extend the performance period and expand the contractor’s scope of services, but the agenda does not explain the specific reason for the increase. The committee is also scheduled to consider a $27,500 increase to the Economic Planning Systems contract for Sutter Pointe-related work, a corresponding budget adjustment, and a modification to the road work plan to include a guardrail project at Eager Road and Tierra Buena Road, with authorization to seek bids. Those proposals are listed in the Oct. 8 public-works agenda.
Committee minutes, vote tallies and later Board of Supervisors action were not included in the agenda materials reviewed for this preview. The county’s subsequent meeting records and executed agreements would be needed to determine which proposals, if any, were approved or carried out.
