Redding says it has won a $7.9 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to support infrastructure work at Stillwater Business Park, including an extension of Venture Parkway from Parcel 12 to Parcel 16.

According to a city news release, the project is intended to open additional parcels in the industrial park for future development and investment. The city said it owns and operates Stillwater Business Park as a master-planned industrial and commercial development meant to attract businesses, create jobs and expand the local economic base.

Interim City Manager Michael Webb said the city applied for the funding in July 2025 because it viewed the project as a strong economic investment for Redding. He said the completed infrastructure would improve the city’s economic position, help attract new businesses and jobs, and bring outside investment into the community.

The release said Stillwater Business Park has grown over the past three years, including the addition of Amazon’s Last Mile Distribution Center in June 2026. It also listed Frito-Lay and Pace Engineering as major tenants. Rebecca Baer, president and CEO of the Shasta Economic Development Corporation, said the EDA investment will help capitalize on that momentum by opening more land for development and positioning the park to attract additional employers and high-quality jobs.

The city said the project is expected to go out to bid and begin construction by summer 2027, though that schedule could change.
