The Humboldt County Association of Governments board is set to consider a small transit funding transfer when it meets June 18 in Eureka.
According to the June 18 agenda, the Policy Advisory Committee is expected to recommend that the HCAOG Board adopt Resolution 26-14 to amend and restate Resolution 24-08 and reallocate $18,009 in City of Arcata fiscal year 2024-25 State of Good Repair funds to Humboldt Transit Authority.
The agenda does not explain why the Arcata funds are being moved or what HTA would spend the money on. It also does not include a vote result; the item is listed for consideration on the consent calendar.
State of Good Repair money is typically used for transit asset maintenance and replacement, so even a modest reallocation can affect near-term capital priorities.
The same agenda also puts several other transit funding items before the board, including proposed fiscal year 2026-27 State Transit Assistance and State of Good Repair allocations, the City of Trinidad’s fiscal year 2025-26 Transportation Development Act local transportation fund claim, and the fiscal year 2025-26 Regional Surface Transportation Program policy and allocations.
The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at Eureka City Hall, Council Chambers, and HCAOG says the public can attend in person or follow remotely via Zoom, Access Humboldt or YouTube.
