Shasta Lake City Council’s July 7 agenda includes a recommendation to award the Commercial Center Safe Routes to School Project to Allen Gill Construction, Inc. for $3,881,807.25.
According to the agenda packet and staff report, the council is being asked to authorize up to $4,106,807.25 for construction, a figure that includes about 6% contingency. The project is identified as Bid No. 2026-02.
The packet says the work would add and improve sidewalks, drainage, lighting and utility infrastructure around the Commercial Center area, including streets such as Grand Avenue, Shasta Way, Cascade Boulevard and Shasta Dam Boulevard, plus a planned segment of Wonderland Boulevard. It also describes a trail and open-space area near Moody Creek.
The packet describes the project as part of the city’s Affordable Housing Sustainable Communities work and says the construction cost is reimbursable through that grant funding.
The council’s July 7 regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Shasta Lake City Council Chambers, 4488 Red Bluff Street.
