Yuba County supervisors are being asked to ratify $751,396.23 in additional work on the Yuba County Library Renovation Project, pushing the projected contract total to $4,011,696.23.

The Aug. 25 Board of Supervisors agenda places Contract Change Orders 33 through 46 on the consent calendar. According to the staff report summarized in the agenda packet, the original contract with United Building Contractors, Inc. was $3,260,300.

The county says the added costs stem from unforeseen site conditions and county-directed changes, including electrical and data work, water-damaged sheetrock repair, wayfinding signage, ceiling changes and restroom finishes.

The library project is funded through the California State Building Forward Library Infrastructure Program, not the General Fund, according to the agenda summary.

The agenda packet does not show the board’s final vote tally in the retrieved material, and it is not clear from the available text how many of the listed change orders had already been approved before this meeting versus newly ratified on Aug. 25.
