Shasta County Public Works staff are recommending that the Board of Supervisors increase appropriations by $609,060 for the Emergency Operation Center North Expansion Project, according to the staff report prepared for the board’s Sept. 15 meeting.
The proposed increase spans the county’s Accumulated Capital Outlay, Land Buildings and Improvement, and Sheriff budget units. The staff report says the adjustment follows lower-than-anticipated spending in the prior fiscal year. The capital-outlay increase would be offset by the Public Safety Infrastructure Committed Fund Balance, while the other budget changes include corresponding revenue increases.
Staff also recommend a retroactive $12,400 amendment to the county’s architectural-services agreement with Nichols-Melburg & Rossetto, AIA & Associates, Inc. The amendment would raise the consultant’s maximum compensation to $126,800, according to the report.
The project’s estimated cost is $4.027 million. The board materials also include a proposed resolution and easement deed granting the City of Redding a permanent utility easement on behalf of Redding Electric Utility for electrical infrastructure serving the project.
