Shasta County supervisors were scheduled to consider a consent-calendar item recommending a 90-month agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. for the Public Defender’s Office, with a not-to-exceed price of $565,535.85.
According to the staff report, the office wants direct access to Evidence.com so attorneys can retrieve digital evidence without repeatedly asking the District Attorney’s Office to reissue files after the current access window closes. The proposal also includes Axon Justice Premier Plus tools, which the report says would add AI-assisted transcription, translation, search, summaries and evidence review.
The report describes the request as a replacement for a manual download-and-storage workflow. It also lists the item as a county procurement with budget implications, though the retrieved materials do not show the board’s final vote or any changes to the proposal.
