Shasta County Public Works is asking the Board of Supervisors to approve a second amendment to its agreement with ACC Environmental Consultants, Inc. that would raise the contract ceiling by $100,000 to $500,000 and extend the term through Dec. 31, 2027, according to the staff report.
The report says ACC provides on-call hazardous materials consulting for county building projects, including work tied to identifying and abating materials such as asbestos and lead-based paint. Staff wrote that the existing contract is nearing its cap and end date, but ongoing projects will still need the service beyond the current term.
Public Works said the county selected ACC in 2023 through a request-for-quotes process. The report says a new RFQ will be launched in 2027 for consulting services after the extension expires.
The staff report also says County Counsel approved the amendment as to form, Risk Management approved it, and the County Administrative Office reviewed the recommendation. It says existing project costs are already budgeted in fiscal year 2026-27 and that there would be no additional General Fund impact.
The draft amendment says future county funding depends on Board appropriations in later fiscal years. If funds are not appropriated, the agreement would end June 30 of the last fiscal year for which funding was approved.
